The Incident Pit
There have been so many deaths at this massive, old, flooded quarry over the years they’ve nick-named it ‘The Incident Pit’. The bottom of it has never been reached and so there’s an obsession by divers to be the first to get there. And as the authorities threaten to close the dive site for good; this obsession is intensified as the chance to be the conqueror of the Pit is gone forever.
In the wake of the death of its latest victim, Rob, views are polarised in the club. Fiona now plans to give up diving altogether but Martin is more determined than ever to be that conqueror. But as everyone refuses to go with him he is forced the consider breaking the hallowed diving rule; never dive alone.
Fiona and Martin argue furiously about what counts as bravery and what as recklessness. When does ambition turn into suicide? But undeterred, Martin carries on. After all, he argues; what’s the point of living if we don’t take risks? And so he plans his dive - but what really lies at the bottom of the Incident Pit?
Starring Carl Wharton and Miranda Benjamin, this is Chris Leicester’s 8th new, original play since 1998. After premiering at Tristan Bates Theatre the Incident Pit goes on to tour the North West.

Come and see Janet!
Emmerdale meets Monty Python in "Janet", a deliciously surreal show which follows the life of Janet from conception to tragic-comic end. Janet is 1.5kg of uncooked bread dough who refuses to go in the oven, the other characters are played by kitchen paraphernalia and various shaped loaves.
Performed by Helen Ainsworth
Directed by John Mowat

gang life. Lead performer Taran Knight brings his own firsthand experience of gang culture and life to
the role, and wrote the show based on his own experiences. Our Kid’s goal is to raise awareness, and
to attract a new audience into the theatre. Working class stories, for Working Class people.

Awkward Conversations With Animals I've F*cked
"Unashamedly provocative and unquestionably memorable" – The Stage
After sell out shows at Edinburgh Festival Fringe and a five star run at the King's Head Theatre in London Awkward Conversations With Animals I've F*cked is going on tour this autumn.
Awkward Productions present this critically-acclaimed, darkly comic production about love, acceptance and boundaries.
One-night stands are awkward. One-night stands with animals are more awkward. And when you're as desperate to please as Bobby, things get awkward as fuck. He's just a guy with too much love to give, and a burning desire to give it to consensual adult mammals. Reuniting the creative team from the previous runs - Linus Karp returns to the role directed by Katharine Armitage.
A one-man tragi-comedy, Rob Hayes’ play is a disturbing psychological examination of loneliness. The production tackles mental health, focusing on how toxic masculinity can undermine loving and healthy social connections, while also illustrating the absurdity of society’s treatment of animals. While castrating, killing and eating animals is part of our everyday lives and docking tails, breeding and caging animals is acceptable, there is a definitive ethical line drawn at sex.
"Funny and unsettling" - Mark Gatiss
"Really enjoyed. Linus Karp is Great" - Edgar Wright
"A Fringe hit" - Time Out
"A sensitive and nuanced performance" - The Stage
"Hilarious" - Gay Times

Strange Loop
Join drag-clown Pretentious Dross for their solo multimedia extravaganza-STRANGE LOOP -it’s a psychoanalyst’s wet-dream. It’s a postmodern p**s-take. It’s a closed circuit, baby.Lost in a dark, mythopoetic labyrinth; Dross explores a twisted warren of pop-culture reference; a kaleidoscopic cavern of queerness and the uncanny. This interdisciplinary work loops ceaselessly through spoken word, lip-sync, 80’s synthwave, Expressionist horror, and other… Stranger Things.Performed across the UK since 2017, STRANGE LOOP has polarised audiences:"Visually stunning"“Harnesses the aesthetic of synth-wave and turns it into a full-on assault of sound, sinister cinema and Drag ... pushing his audience to extremes of sympathy and disgust"“Fucking weird”"Strange Loop offers a painful insight into the complexities of human identity. As a performance, it captivates its audience through gorgeous audio-visuals, forcing those watching to examine their own feelings in relation to self-identity. Which is precisely what great Performance Art should do"Pretentious Dross is the drag alter-ego of performance maker and academic Jim Valentine-Burrows. He has been producing experimental theatre is various guides for many years, completing a PhD in digital theatre practices in 2017. - Jordan

Jordan
After their success at this year’s Buxton Festival Fringe, Easy Company bring their award-winning show ‘Jordan’ to the King’s Arms this November.
When Shirley meets Davey he offers her the promise of a better life, and for a while she believes it. What begins as a love story at the bottom of the social ladder quickly turns into an abusive and violent relationship from which Shirley cannot escape. When she unexpectedly falls pregnant her desire to protect her son takes an obsessive and deeply tragic turn.
Based on a true story Jordan is a challenging, powerful and profoundly moving play that asks difficult questions about what we can forgive in the name of motherly love.
Winner – Best Female Actor – Buxton Festival Fringe 2019
Nominated – Best Theatre Production – Buxton Festival Fringe 2019
‘five stars….powerful and sensitive….one you shouldn’t miss’ – Fringe Guru

Alexander Bennett: They Call Me Daddy Punchlines
Alexander Bennett is a rising cult comedian, at least that’s the identity he’s put the most time and effort into. As for the rest of his identity, well that’s a confusing mess, isn’t it for everyone?
This is a show about how people are complex, and an appeal for appreciation of that complexity. It is also about Alexander Bennett. His comedy has been described as dark, silly, filthy and thoughtful. Come if you like the sound of those adjectives. Expect oversharing.
**** THE STAGE ***** ONE4REVIEW
"I don't think I can begin to do him justice; a producer and performer of some refreshingly different material" CHORTLE
"His sharp interpretations of the world around him add a sinister spin to the everyday - Unique and hilarious" THE REVIEWS HUB
“One of the most important shows on the fringe. Heart-stopping… A courageous and thought provoking exposure of a hidden darkness”
THE SCOTSMAN
“A passionate and praiseworthy hour of dark observational comedy”
THE SKINNY
"There’s something spookily LeStat-ish about Alexander Bennett. Just as unnerving is just how good he has become in the past five years" FRINGE PIG
"He is delivering a provoking foray into polarizing issues while trying to pull himself out of a muddy cesspool. His determination to share with his audience leads to some admirable honesty and more than a handful of striking statements" THE WEE REVIEWStill only 26, 2019 has been a good year for Bennett, including being nominated for Best Improv/Musical Show at the Leicester Comedy Festival as part of Consignia. His hour show Terrifying Smile is now available for streaming via NextUp, with another soon to be released. A regular at the acclaimed Alternative Comedy Memorial Society, he has performed alongside the alt-comedy fan favourite Weirdos group and has run his own Time Out recommended night This Is Not A Cult in London. Bennett also created Hell To Play, the cult fringe hit gameshow set in Hell.
Edy Hurst: Hurst Schmurst
Award-winning comedian Edy Hurst brings his musical comedy, loop pedal nonsense and stand-up to answer the age-old question: ‘What’s the deal with Edy Hurst? Who even is he? Where am I? What?’ As seen on MTV, BBC Radio 4, BBC New Act Nominee 2017, Great Yorkshire Fringe People’s Champion 2017, Harrogate Comedian of the Year finalist 2018, nominated for the Musical Comedy Awards 2018 and lurking in your dreams, ya weirdo.
