Don't Mind Me (Forgotten Voices With Much to Say)
We've all seen them in the corner of the pub. Old before their time. Sat there from dawn til dusk. Slowly drinking themselves to death. Muttering away like they haven't a care. Catching our eye as we pretend not to look. But who are these people? Could they once have had a full and happy life? Surely not...

The Moon Under Water
George Orwell liked pubs. Andrew James Brown LOVES pubs. All pubs!
Taking Orwell’s 1946 essay ‘The Moon Under Water’ as a starting point, Andrew James Brown looks at the joy of pubs, their essence and their greatness, and, most importantly the people in them. Why not join him on his colourful journey through pubs great and small, from chain pub to gastro, travelling through city gin-palaces and country inns across parquet flooring and sticky carpet alike.
History, philosophy, musings, poems and tales of booze, horse brasses and Morris dancing, all washed down with a warm lager or two. Do you like pubs? If so, you’ll like this. Hopefully.

The More You Learn–
The More You Learn
Charlie (Charlotte) and Lenny love each other. Charlie loves Lenny because he has a heart of gold and aspires to be a travel writer. The problem is, he doesn’t have the motivation to do anything about it. In fact, the only motivation he appears to have is to attend (and miserably lose) the weekly, Sunday quiz at The Hope and Anchor, with his loveable-rogue of
a mate, Den. Which Charlie funds, to the tune of £50! And it increasingly appears that Lenny loves Charlie because she lets him get away with it. So Charlie’s mum, Glenys, uses these ‘free’ Sundays to phone her daughter and give her some sage advice: “Kick the useless
article into touch!” Charlie gives Lenny seven days to get his act together and turn on some motivation, while she stays at her mum’s for a diet of TLC. Lenny is heartbroken. But in the midst of his misery, he develops the gift of instant, total recall; for every single fact he’s ever read or
heard about! Next thing you know, his ‘chancer’ mate, Den, signs him up for a TV quiz with a first prize of TWENTY THOUSAND POUNDS!!! Now all he needs to do to get Charlie back is to pocket the £20k… But, where did this ‘gift’ come from and how long can it possibly last? All will be revealed before an audience of millions in the QuizBrits Grand Final…
THE MORE YOU LEARN:
It’s not what you know… It’s what you do with what you know.

Join drag-clown Pretentious Dross for their solo multimedia extravaganza-STRANGE LOOP -it’s a psychoanalyst’s wet-dream. It’s a postmodern p**s-take. It’s a closed circuit, baby.Lost in a dark, mythopoetic labyrinth; Dross explores a twisted warren of pop-culture reference; a kaleidoscopic cavern of queerness and the uncanny. This interdisciplinary work loops ceaselessly through spoken word, lip-sync, 80’s synthwave, Expressionist horror, and other… Stranger Things.Performed across the UK since 2017, STRANGE LOOP has polarised audiences:"Visually stunning"“Harnesses the aesthetic of synth-wave and turns it into a full-on assault of sound, sinister cinema and Drag ... pushing his audience to extremes of sympathy and disgust"“Fucking weird”"Strange Loop offers a painful insight into the complexities of human identity. As a performance, it captivates its audience through gorgeous audio-visuals, forcing those watching to examine their own feelings in relation to self-identity. Which is precisely what great Performance Art should do"Pretentious Dross is the drag alter-ego of performance maker and academic Jim Valentine-Burrows. He has been producing experimental theatre is various guides for many years, completing a PhD in digital theatre practices in 2017. - Jordan

Alexander Bennett: They Call Me Daddy Punchlines
Alexander Bennett is a rising cult comedian, at least that’s the identity he’s put the most time and effort into. As for the rest of his identity, well that’s a confusing mess, isn’t it for everyone?
This is a show about how people are complex, and an appeal for appreciation of that complexity. It is also about Alexander Bennett. His comedy has been described as dark, silly, filthy and thoughtful. Come if you like the sound of those adjectives. Expect oversharing.
**** THE STAGE ***** ONE4REVIEW
"I don't think I can begin to do him justice; a producer and performer of some refreshingly different material" CHORTLE
"His sharp interpretations of the world around him add a sinister spin to the everyday - Unique and hilarious" THE REVIEWS HUB
“One of the most important shows on the fringe. Heart-stopping… A courageous and thought provoking exposure of a hidden darkness”
THE SCOTSMAN
“A passionate and praiseworthy hour of dark observational comedy”
THE SKINNY
"There’s something spookily LeStat-ish about Alexander Bennett. Just as unnerving is just how good he has become in the past five years" FRINGE PIG
"He is delivering a provoking foray into polarizing issues while trying to pull himself out of a muddy cesspool. His determination to share with his audience leads to some admirable honesty and more than a handful of striking statements" THE WEE REVIEWStill only 26, 2019 has been a good year for Bennett, including being nominated for Best Improv/Musical Show at the Leicester Comedy Festival as part of Consignia. His hour show Terrifying Smile is now available for streaming via NextUp, with another soon to be released. A regular at the acclaimed Alternative Comedy Memorial Society, he has performed alongside the alt-comedy fan favourite Weirdos group and has run his own Time Out recommended night This Is Not A Cult in London. Bennett also created Hell To Play, the cult fringe hit gameshow set in Hell.
Edy Hurst: Hurst Schmurst
Award-winning comedian Edy Hurst brings his musical comedy, loop pedal nonsense and stand-up to answer the age-old question: ‘What’s the deal with Edy Hurst? Who even is he? Where am I? What?’ As seen on MTV, BBC Radio 4, BBC New Act Nominee 2017, Great Yorkshire Fringe People’s Champion 2017, Harrogate Comedian of the Year finalist 2018, nominated for the Musical Comedy Awards 2018 and lurking in your dreams, ya weirdo.

The Bar-Steward Sons of Val Doonican's Winter Woollies Tour
Hailing from Barnsley Rock City o'er t'other side of the Pennines, the UK's hardest working comedy band, The Bar-Steward Sons of Val Doonican are on a mission! Determined to follow in their spiritual father’s immortal footsteps and keep his legacy alive, they have a talent for Bar-Stewardizing other famous people’s songs with new comedy lyrics, on acoustic geetar, banjo, fiddle, mandolin, accordion, keyboard, keytar, and the world's first synthesiser ukulele! To complete their squeaky-clean image, brothers-from-other-mothers Scott, Björn and Alan have become instantly recognisable for their immaculate hair and their stylish choice of knitwear.
A band that is both perpetually on the move and joyously independent, since forming in 2006, they have played over 1000 side-splitting shows to date, and have brought smiles and belly-laughs to audiences across the UK; from Barnsley to Barnstaple, from Glasgow to Glastonbury. They continue to wow audiences with their anarchic live shows and a fine selection of their greatest hits, including the likes of “Jump Ararnd”, “The Lady In Greggs”, "How Deep Is Your Glove?", "Paint 'em Back", "Walking In Manpiss" and “If I Could Punch A Face… It’d Be Justin Bieber’s”.
They are returning to The Kings Arms Theatre on their Sold Out Winter Woollies Tour, and they promise that they will rock you... but gently.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is an adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s 1922 short story. It tells the story of the reverse life of Benjamin Button, who ages backwards - he is born an old man and dies a baby. We follow him through the landmarks of his life, through the chaos of his birth, experiences of love, loss, of war, family - what it is to be a father when you’re growing younger, and a child when your body is old.
