Young, dumb, and low-income.

Ruth and Freddie have been together for a long time- they know virtually everything about one another. But every relationship has its secrets, and when their enigmatic neighbour, Alex, enters the couple’s lives, their relationship becomes a tumultuous battle for his affections. A contemporary love-triangle comedy-drama with farcical elements Me. You. And the Fit Bloke Next Door is Cost-of-Living meets cuckolding. But who will make it out of the flat unscathed?

Me. You. And the Fit Bloke Next Door is a brand new play written by Pip Carew and produced by Downstairs Productions, the team behind Carew’s debut play, Anti-Heroine.

Downstairs Productions is an emerging independent female-led theatre company based in Manchester, UK. Established in 2024, Downstairs first took audiences by storm with its bold one-woman show Anti-Heroine. At its debut at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Anti-Heroine was named in The Scotsman’s Top 5 shows of the Festival’s Opening Weekend, and Scottish Woman Magazine’s Top Picks of the Festival, before running at London’s oldest theatre bar The Old Red Lion Theatre in Islington.
